About Financial Planet

The idea for Financial Planet originated as a result of Financial Planning Standards Board’s highly successful World Financial Planning Summit in 2010. At the Summit, held in Chinese Taipei, thought leaders from the global financial planning community — including regulators, educators, representatives from financial services firms and consumer advocates — challenged each other to define the steps needed to establish financial planning as a distinct professional practice worldwide. The dialogue that began at the Summit led FPSB to find a way to continue the conversation, while inviting wider participation from financial planning professionals and other key stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
